A good 18th century English brass and wrought iron firegrate. The rectangular railed basket above a pierced fret flanked by tapering supports with urn finials  Circa 1780. Restored. Circa 1780.

The late 18th century polished steel and brass little grate illustrated here (stock no.4467) is a perfect example of a work by an apprentice learning blacksmithery.
